How to redact PDF
- Add one PDF file.

- Choose the quality and look, then click “Save redacted PDF” and download it.

Frequently asked questions
Are my files uploaded anywhere?
No. Fizzdoc does the work inside your browser tab, using open-source engines compiled to WebAssembly and JavaScript. Your file is read from your device, processed locally, and the result is saved straight back to your device. You can check this yourself: open your browser’s developer tools, go to the Network tab, and run a job — no request carries your file.
Is the redacted text really gone?
Yes. Fizzdoc redraws every page as an image with your black marks burned in and builds a new PDF from those images. The original fonts and document metadata are not copied, and text under a mark is never added back, so it can’t be selected, searched or recovered.
Can I still search or copy the rest of the text?
Yes. The text you didn’t cover is added back as an invisible layer over each page image, so you can search, select and copy it. Text under a mark is left out, and so is text that doesn’t show on the page, such as words already hidden under a black box. For an image-only file, untick “Keep the rest of the text searchable”.
Is Fizzdoc free?
Yes, and it stays free: no sign-up, no watermark, no daily limit and no premium tier. Fizzdoc is open source under the Apache-2.0 license, so anyone can run their own copy.
